Goddess of Wisdom, the Reading Pallas, receives first Leiden University Press Catalogue

Leiden University Press first autumn catalogue was launched June 1st.

This first catalogue represents the fresh harvest of this first year since LUP's independence summer 2009. The autumn 2010 catalogue contain s several significant titles: about Sharia and national law; nine titles in the Iranian Studies Series; an e-book on proverbs about women worldwide ; archaeological studies; and, as part of the 87th Lustrum of Leiden University, interviews with exploratory Leiden scholars to reveal their 'drive' in Reggae & Rattlesnakes.


The reading Pallas, depicted prominently in the Leiden University seal, kept to an old tradition in the 17th century by arriving at the monumental Academy Building by boat. Yvonne Twisk, publisher of Leiden University Press , presented the catalogue .

Leiden University Press aims at publishing scholarly peer-reviewed works within the research profile and works related to the fields of expertise this university is known for internationally.
